What are tooth fillings?

Fillings are commonly used to restore a tooth that has been damaged from decay. They are also used to repair fractured or chipped teeth. At High Dental, we use tooth-coloured filling materials of the highest quality to seal up cavities (i.e. holes) in the tooth. The filling acts as a barrier against bacteria, thereby preventing bacteria from causing further dental decay.

What is involved in the procedure?

After the tooth has been cleared of decay, resin composite (i.e. filling material) is added to the tooth in layers. It is carefully adapted to mimic the natural structure of the tooth. Following this, the filling is adjusted and polished. The final outcome is a tooth that is healthier, functional and aesthetically pleasing.
